Max Bechtel and Austin Curtis join Fort Dearborn Partners

Max hails from Columbus, Ohio, and brings four years of Audit and Advisory Services experience gained while working in public accounting. During that time, Max audited companies in the Manufacturing and Distribution, Transportation and Logistics, and Construction industries. Max led multiple audit engagements simultaneously during his last two audit seasons, serving as the in-charge auditor. These experiences provided Max with strong accounting, technical, and client management skills.

Max pivoted to the Transaction Advisory Services Team, following his time as an in-charge auditor, assisting on buy-side and sell-side due diligence engagements for company management, as well as private equity groups. His transaction advisory work was primarily in the Manufacturing & Distribution, Construction, and Professional Services industries.

Max earned his BSBA in Accounting at The University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.

Austin is an Oklahoma transplant who comes to Fort Dearborn with four years of experience in public accounting in Assurance Services. During his public accounting career in Oklahoma City and Chicago, Austin served clients in a wide variety of industries including Technology, Healthcare, Oil and Gas, Food Service, and Transportation.

Austin’s assurance experience provided him with the skills necessary to navigate demanding environments, manage complex projects, build client and peer relationships, and present concise and insightful communications to all levels of management. These are the very skills necessary for the broad and challenging turnaround and investment banking environment of Fort Dearborn Partners.

Austin graduated from the University of Missouri with both his BSAcc and MAcc in Accountancy.

When announcing the hires to the rest of the Fort Dearborn Team, Kevin Cleary said, “We are excited to add two highly qualified consultants to our growing staff. Max and Austin have the talent, experience, and character necessary to be successful in both our investment banking and turnaround practices. We are truly fortunate to welcome them to the FDP team.”

Welcome, Max and Austin!
