Jim joined Fort Dearborn Partners in July 2020, after six years of diverse public accounting experience. He is primarily based in the restructuring group, where he helps stabilize financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital plans. On a typical engagement, he will build integrated financial models to forecast the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and lending compliance of clients for forbearance agreements or refinancings. He also prepares 13-week cash flow forecasts, borrowing base and other schedules to reassure creditors and investors that the company is solvent and addressing identified problems. Work is typically performed for business owners, management, private equity firms, banks, and various types of lenders.
Prior to joining Fort Dearborn, Jim was an Audit Manager in the Chicago office of Deloitte & Touche, LLP. While there, he performed financial statement audits for public and privately owned businesses ranging in size from $100M to $6.1B. He worked with acquisitive business clients and has extensive experience with acquisitions, divestitures, purchase accounting, carve out financial statements and debt compliance.
Jim is from Littleton, Colorado, and a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where he was a four-year letter winner in baseball.
In his spare time, he enjoys golf, traveling with family and friends, and watching the Chicago Cubs.
